Full Name: Mark Evans
About: When we understand that we have associated the act of using drugs or drinking alcohol with relief over our uncomfortable state of mind, we can begin to recondition our auto response system and practice the skill of sitting through uncomfortable state long enough to become comfortable. We facilitate these skills by providing psycho-educational content to clients during the detox and residential phase of treatment. During this phase we can be considered to be true interventionists. Once a client has survived the first 30 days and become ready to transition into after care, we can consider ourselves to be life and recovery coaches. The “ what’s next phase.” We then become responsible for teaching life skills that allow clients to obtain the skill sets necessary to maintain sobriety.
